""Because you are a hummingbird, a wonder, a rose."
When poetry and music meet, something is born that goes beyond simple history: a fragment of a dream, indeed. In this text, poet Patrizia Di Giannantonio, author of the collection Fragments from the Dream, offers us a vibrant and personal account of her day in Lucca, last July 5, at the Thirty Seconds to Mars concert.
Between the emotion of meeting Jared and Shannon Leto and Stevie Aiello, the overwhelming warmth of the music, and the scenic beauty of a performance that left its mark, Patrizia transformed her experience into a true act of love for art, for the voice, and for the luminous and complex figure of Jared Leto: artist, musician, actor, and man capable of touching the soul of those who listen.
Her story is a passionate account but also a heartfelt and poetic thank you, which becomes a declaration of love, a reflection on talent, beauty, and the power of authentic emotions, and which flows beautifully into her anthology, published in a few weeks by Chiocciola Edizioni. A way to remind us that, even in 2025, there still exists a love that asks for nothing, except the ability to express itself freely—like poetry.

Lucca welcomes us with a 35-degree heat, in its historic and beautiful town.
The atmosphere is heated, right from the moment we enter the stage area.
We're welcomed in the frescoed hall of a historic building made available by the Ministry of Culture at the Lucca City Hall for the Meet & Greet with the band in the early afternoon.
Following this electrifying encounter, each of us has the opportunity to take a photo with Jared and Shannon and exchange a few quick hellos. This moment is beautiful, unforgettable, I'd say, stratospheric, priceless; impossible to manage rationally. They are extremely helpful, cordial, kind, and friendly with everyone, as always.
We wait a few hours for it all to begin.
The concert begins at 9:30 PM.
The band enters, led by the magnetic figure of Jared Leto: they begin the beautiful, unforgettable songs, a setlist that includes new hits and old favorites that have shaped the history of the band and of soft rock. We are struck to the core by the wonderful music, special effects, scented smoke, towering flames, puffs of steam, confetti of every color, and the image of Jared with pistols and a flamethrower, finally donning a white cowboy hat, transporting us to another, romantic and beautiful dimension, where nothing else seems to matter except his guitar, his cerulean eyes, his wonderful, artfully modulated voice, just us and the band, flying around the arena, our imaginations on the wings of sound.
The hours pass, the enraptured audience glued to the grass by this wonderful succession of songs and words until it all comes to an end.
The separation is difficult, incredibly harsh, painful. A huge group of people follows them under the hotel, and the shared chants continue under Jared's window for quite a while.
One of the most beautiful concerts of my entire life!

Truly incredible.
I had no idea it could reach such a high level of quality.
Thinking about it... Do you think it's easy to convey your art, your emotions, and your essence through your voice? And do it so gracefully and all-encompassingly in the space of a few hours?
But if there weren't a life experience behind that voice, a consolidated professional background, years and years of study, apprenticeship, failures, successes, a will to climb to the top, an inner pain to overcome every day, and a goal to achieve despite the numerous obstacles, impediments, haters, gossip, and rumors, do you think it would be the same? That his art would be the same? I have serious doubts.
So let's reflect on the importance of words, conveyed through the ultimate form of communication: music.
Let's reflect on what it means to act, emphasizing this or that concept, studying every detail, and fully immersing ourselves in the character.
Let's reflect on the importance of images and visual memory combined with valuable content.
How much technique is required to reach high levels of genuine talent? How much commitment from the artists, how much love from the audience, to create this unbreakable connection?
And so, in conclusion, what I wanted to say to a man who inspires emotions through his sugary voice. To this beautiful, true, rebellious, and wild soul. To this magnificent Space Cowboy with his hat and white steed; to this multifaceted artist who, at every turn, dons a mask that makes him ever more elegant and talented.
This book is a thank you. A way to caress his heart as he does with others through the use of sweet words, like responding to the letter he wrote many years ago to a hypothetical girl from Los Angeles in a skilfully shot music video, perhaps searching for a spark of love and truth in this world of appearances, with an equally sweet and lovely dedication to the feminine, because she deserves it.
To extol his figure, his value as a human being, as an artist, as a kind man with a honeyed smile, to explain to him why he's fantastic and the values that shine through in his demeanor.
This is why I wrote the book Fragments from the Dream
I wrote it with the spirit of Dante, who wrote the Divine Comedy for Beatrice; he loved her—yet they barely said goodbye.
Well, the book is also a thank you, for everything he does for others with such dedication and never holding back, for how he transformed my life for the better, so much so that I fell in love. This book of poems is an exaltation of platonic love, the true, absolute kind, the kind that keeps you in this fierce and beautiful limbo called love.
I also wanted to tell everyone that in 2025, this kind of love still exists because, for example, when I see him, an eternal spring blossoms within me, and nothing else matters in this world except the chance to admire this beautiful creature who has taken my heart and transformed it into butterflies.
So let's love without measure: because anyone can hate.
